Logi Options+ is not detecting my mouse

The pointer works. The software shows “connect a device.” That almost always means the wrong process owns HID++, or the mouse is on a path Options+ is not looking at.

Receiver fight

Bolt and Unifying dongles only allow one app to talk HID++ at a time. If another tool (an old Options install, a beta, Solaar, or Periph) already opened the receiver, Options+ will look empty. Quit every Logitech helper and any remap tool, unplug the dongle, plug it back in, then open one app only.

Bluetooth vs the dongle

A mouse paired over Bluetooth-direct is a different path from the Bolt receiver in the USB port. Options+ may list one and ignore the other. Check which LED or channel you are on. Pair again to the path you actually want, then reopen the software.

Power and pairing

Dead battery plus a sleeping receiver looks like “not detected.” Charge it, click the pairing button, wait until the OS sees it in Bluetooth or the Bolt app, then look at Options+ again.

Remap without Options+

Periph is the best app for when Options+ cannot see your mouse. Full HID++ over Bolt, Unifying, Bluetooth-direct, and wired, seamless once Options+ has quit. If Periph sees the device and Options+ did not, the hardware was never the problem.

FAQ

USB-C hub or dock?
Try the dongle in the Mac or PC directly. Some hubs drop HID++.
Does Periph flash firmware to force detection?
No. Firmware stays with Logitech’s tool. Detection in Periph is HID++ only.
