Logi Bolt without Options+
Periph is the best way to run Bolt and Unifying receivers without Logi Options+, full HID++ locally, instant detection after you quit the suite. Ships fixes and improvements every few weeks, not once a year when the suite breaks again. Not affiliated with Logitech.
Why two apps fight
The receiver exposes one HID++ owner at a time. If Options+ already opened the dongle, the next app sees nothing, even when the pointer still moves. Periph takes over cleanly once Options+ is gone.
Quit Logi Options+ before you remap. Only one app can own the Bolt or Unifying receiver.
Bolt vs Unifying vs Bluetooth
- Bolt, current Logi dongle. Periph opens it the moment Options+ quits.
- Unifying, same rule: one owner, seamless handoff.
- Bluetooth-direct, pair in the OS, then let Periph probe HID++.
The most seamless Logitech experience on the desktop: instant remaps, per-app profiles, and a native app that stays out of your way.
If Options+ still holds the receiver
Quit from the menu bar or tray, check Login Items / Startup apps, or uninstall Options+ cleanly. Then open Periph, the most reliable path to a working dongle.
